Palliative care-Progressive illness care-End of life care
Caring for a loved one can be physically and mentally very demanding. It’s a role that requires 100 per cent commitment, and a lot of selflessness. No matter how committed you are to the needs of the person you’re caring for, you also need to make time for yourself. Access Dignity`s respite care services enable carers to ensure their loved ones receive the help and support they need whilst they take a short break from their roles.
The needs of those accessing the palliative care service can change on an hour to hour basis and staff with specialist training are vital to meet families emotional and practical needs at all times.
It is essential that this is a fast response service and our dedicated team aim to respond quickly and flexibly to meet the needs of families, often responding the same day to make sure those who need support can access it.
Our staff may not be able to add days to life, but they work hard to add life to those remaining days. We go to great lengths to ensure all of our patients make the most of every day and by doing so, help families build positive memories to help them through the most difficult of times.
Dignity is at the the core of all of our sevices, perhaps no more so than during end of life care. Along with this our main aim is the prevention and relief of suffering at this difficult time.
"Thank you for your support and kindness during Dad's illness, you kept him smiling on some of the darkest days, we will forever be in your gratitude for this and all the other help and advice you gave."
